EMOTIONAL HEALING PROGRAM for VETERANS
The Vets Journey Home, a weekend of emotional healing for combat zone veterans and others who have experienced the trauma of war, will be held May 1-3, 2009, at Gaia Retreat Center in Mt. Airy, MD.
The Vets Journey Home program, formerly known as The Bamboo Bridge, was created 20 years ago by a Vietnam veteran and the daughter of a WWII veteran. Today it is led by combat veterans, non-combat veterans and supportive men and women civilian and veteran volunteers. Together, these caring people create a strong and safe space to support veterans in being heard and understood and moving beyond survival into emotional thriving once again.
The Vets Journey Home program is free to all combat zone veterans. You have already paid the price for your honoring and healing.
Programs are supported by businesses, organizations, and individuals in the community.
The community is invited to attend the public Graduation Ceremony held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009, in the Centerspace at Gaia Healing Center, Mt. Airy. Directions are available at www.gaiahealing.com. This is an opportunity for the community to honor and welcome home the veterans who participated in the program. Representatives from all parts of the community are invited to give these veterans the welcome home that truly honors their service and completes the warrior’s journey for them. All ages are welcome at the Graduation.
