Continuing Exhibition: American Decorative Arts

Description: This continuing exhibit exams the stories and histories of objects from the museum's outstanding collection of American decorative arts. The importance of the pieces and their utilitarian value will also be examined. Pieces crafted in various media such as glass and silver, dating from 1812 through 1932 are inclluded in the collection. Also included are paintings displaying how artists used decorative art objects as subjects in still lifes and other compositions. This exhibit will be on display through July 2013.

Continuing Exhibition: WPA Prints

Description: The works in this continuing exhibition were all created during the 1930's with many artists depicting themes and subjects relating to everyday life during the Great Depression. The works in this exhibition are part of a collection of more than 70 works allocated to the museum in 1943. This exhibit continues through March 4.

Museum Art School Reunion Exhibition: Creating, Inspiring & Educating Artists for 80 Years

Description: In celebration of the museum's 80 years of service to the community, this exhibition will reunite works of art by past instructors and museum school students who went on to become artists or work in the arts. Photographs from the archives, a snapshot gallery and statements from students will illustrate the impact that art programs have made on generations of aspiring artists. Works in all media will reflect the variety of unique courses offered throughout the years and will include pieces by many well known local artists. This exhibit continues through April 14, 2012.

79th Annual Cumberland Valley Photographic Salon

Description: For 79 years, the museum has celebrated the art of photography in the annual Cumberland Valley Photographic Salon. Open to amateur and professional photographers of all ages, the exhibition highlights various styles and photographic techniques. This year's juror was Bruce Katsiff, photographer and Director of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Join us on Sunday, February 12 for the Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony, sponsored by Conservit, Inc. Visitors to the exhibition can vote for their favorite photograph by casting a ballot for the Popular Prize. This exhibition continues through April 29, 2012.

Each performance is followed by a workshop where children can create their own art and dance with the sculptures. Shows at 1 & 4pm

StepDance

Description: StepDance is a captivating new show that fuses traditional and contemporary Irish dance with heart-pounding rhythms, innovative choreography and cutting-edge artistry. StepDance is a new show featuring the Teelin Irish Dance Company, and follows six successful years of the previous production of Portraits of Ireland dance show. The Teelin Irish Dance Company has a reputation for enthralling audience members with innovative performances that accentuate the high energy of Irish dance. Guest artists span the diversity from traditional musicians to slam poets, and beat boxers to ballerinas, and help to create a show to remember.
