At 9:00 p.m., the Buddy Project will present The Michele McTierney Band to perform live, winners of several local open-mic contests and runner-up in the 2007 Song of the Year contest in Baltimore, MD. Zimmerman is expecting a great turnout for the cake auction that will allow The Buddy Project to purchase more refurbished computers to give away to people with disabilities. A host of festivities are planned for opening day on June 7 including live music featuring the Jimmy Purdum Band and special childrens activities including a hay maze. Byrne conserved many of the paintings in the exhibition and will discuss the conservation process. Garman researched Jex and the locations he painted in Harpers Ferry and he will discuss the artist and the town in the mid-twentieth century. The Ganet Jex Exhibition is on view until January 17, 2010.
