Location: Landmark Executive hanger at Frederick Municipal Airport (View Map)

Description: The live benefit auction and dance will be located in the Landmark Executive hanger at Frederick Municipal airport. With live band, dessert and dancing, it will be a great way for local business leaders and the like, to come together and help raise money for at-risk youth. The live auction, beginning around the eight-o-clock hour, will include items donated for the event such as four rounds of golf at Maryland National Golf Club, a half-hour helicopter ride, and other items generously donated from local area businesses. Tickets will go for the price of $30 dollars, $10 of which can be put toward an auction item. All proceeds will benefit AHYF. The evening will also serve as a time to honor the four lives lost in the helicopter crash that occurred on the night of July 23rd, 2009 when friends and employees of AHYF were killed after attending an event to raise money for the foundation. In their memory, the foundation will persevere with the work of raising money for at-risk youth. Neal Lanning, founder of AHYF, This will be an evening to remember and the genesis of a yearly event that Im sure will become an exciting staple in local residents social calendar. Funds raised during the evenings event will benefit two recipients: Advent Home and Teen Challenge USA. Advent Home Learning Center, based in Calhoun, Tennessee, is a remedial Christian school for 12 to 18-year-old at-risk boys with special academic and behavioral needs, currently housing 32 students. They may be struggling with school dismissal, low self-image, and family problems. Tuition fees are quite expensive for families and oftentimes not covered by traditional insurance. AHYF stands to serve those families desperate for a healing alternative school in a minimum distraction environment. More information about Advent home can be found at www.adventhome.org. Teen Challenge is a Christian organization that successfully works with people who have life-controlling problems and are without the necessary resources and opportunities to live productively. Using both residential and outreach programs, Teen Challenge is the oldest and largest private agency in America working in this field. More information about the Maryland branch of Teen Challenge USA can be found at www.teenchallengeusa.com/maryland/. Tickets are available to purchase online through the foundation website, www.AHYouthFoundation.org or over the phone at 301.694.5313 About the foundation: In June of 2009, Advanced Helicopter Youth Foundation (AHYF) was established by helicopter pilots to heal families with an at-risk child before a crisis is reached in the home, by promoting, advancing, and facilitating affordable, durable and compassionate mental health care. The foundation stands to raise funds and awareness for charities that operate on the front-lines helping Americas at-risk youth. As a nonprofit organization, AHYF relies upon the generosity and ongoing support of grants, private donors, gifts and the help of volunteers.
