Every mom has those days when they wake up and the world around them consist of nothing but a screaming child who seems to be doing all that they can to push those buttons that send us over the edge. Somehow God blesses us (moms) with a little more endurance from some place deep inside of us that we never even knew we had. I think that endurance comes from the things that children say or do to make us laugh. In the end it all evens out. Over time I have thought about why I love my children so much. Not just the baby but even those teens who are hormonal and treat you like you may be the anti-christ.
I love the way I feel when one of them is not feeling so well and no one else’s hugs and kisses will do but mine. It makes me remember that I am someone that plays a role that no one else can play.
I love it when I have to correct my two year old for talking back to me. He says “Sowwy mommy” Then puts his little finger to his mouth as says “Shhhhh”.
I love the fact that they all have VERY different personalities. Jessica who is seventeen is very quiet, not interested in much of anything( outside of her boyfriend) and couldn’t care less what her wardrobe consist of. Nicole, who is fifteen is the complete opposite of Jessica. She is little Miss. Fasion Queen. Everything in her world has to be perfect at all times. That includes her relationship with everyone, her clothes, her hair, her social life and even her grades. Angie, my ten year old is what I call a free spirit. Depending on which way the wind blows will determine her personality for the day. She is always very talkative. She can be very negative and is hard on herself about everything. Brandon, my little guy who is two is 100% BOY. He is rough and tough and loves to climb on just about everything. He is a daddy’s boy so like his daddy he is very into racing. Instead of watching cartoons in the morning he wants to watch the channel that has racing on it all of the time!
I love the fact that they think I am to old to understand what goes on in their lives. It used to really upset me but I have learned to laugh at it. I can remember thinking that my mom was as old as dirt and now I think about her all of the time when I hear myself sounding just like her when I was young!
I love it when my teens tell me that I dress like an old woman but they always, and I do mean always ask me if they look okay before they leave!
I love it when the little ones come to me and ask me for money to go shopping so that they can buy ME a gift!
I love it when they buy me or make me something that most people wouldn’t be caught dead in and I can wear it proudly because I know it was made with love.
Most of all, I love the fact that no matter how much they say I get on their nerves, they love me and they let me know that by saying “good night ma, I love you” every single night….
