FIREWORKS MAY BE CANCELLED, BUT THE ACTION REMAINS WITH SPEED TRUCKS, HORNADAY AND MORE

SAN BERNARDINO – As reported last week, due to tough economic conditions at the NOS Events Center, the fireworks show planned for the July 5th Race Night at Orange Show Speedway has been cancelled. OSS Staff and Drivers won’t let that stand in their way as OSS embarks on a great slate of action for fans in the month of July and beyond.

The ASA Speed Truck Challenge will make it’s second and final appearance to the historic ¼ mile oval this Saturday. Points leader Darren Young will be followed by one of the most diverse and exciting fields of up and coming stars and championship caliber veterans. The night’s action will be at fever pitch with great action that will include fan favorites like the Lucas Oil Late Models, Leno’s Rico Taco Legends and ASA Stock Ponies

In its 12th year, the ASA Speed Truck Challenge is one of the few regional touring series in the nation that allows drivers to compete at the age of 14. While they may be rookie drivers in the Speed Trucks they are far from actual racing rookies. Many of them began racing as early as five years old and has a wealth of experience in youth orientated series such as karts, INEX Bandolero and Legend cars. These youngsters are a major focal point of the series' logo that says "we build champions."

Saturday, July 12th, will mark a return of Ron Hornaday to, not only his roots, but to a timeless definition of a true racer. Hornaday will not only compete in the Hornaday 100 presented by Blackjack Fireworks with the BSR West Super Late Models, as he did last time at OSS, he will also be racing a Modified in the Super Clean Modifieds 75-lap Main Event that same night. Ron has been thankful of all the tremendous support that has come with KHI’s partner, Camping World. Members of the local Camping World Supplier in San Bernardino will be in attendance as well as setting up a booth to answer all your RV and outdoor questions. Additionally they will have collectable Ron Hornaday/Camping World #33 Silverado diecast and Camping World Racing banners available for purchase.

The emphasis for the evening will be fun in the sun as local merchants and fans have come together to host the first ‘Beach Party’ of the year at the speedway. There will be live entertainment throughout the evening, BBQ, Beach Volleyball, bounce houses for the kids and more that will continue long after they drop the checkered flag to the Hornaday 100.

More confirmations concerning the activities in conjunction with second annual Hornaday 100 presented by Blackjack Fireworks will have plenty for the fan goers on July the 12th. Orange Show Speedway announced the continued relationship with Auto Club Speedway that will include a display at OSS and the announcement of special OSS Ticket packages for fans in conjunction with their Labor Day Weekend Race weekend. Exact details will be announced next week prior to the Hornaday 100 weekend that will include ticket packages for both the Camping World 300 and Pepsi 500.

Ron will interact with fans one of two ways. With additional ties to local racing, fans will have a chance to purchase a special ‘Cold’ Pit Passes that will include admission to the speedway, opportunity to visit the pits prior to race time, and additionally receive a commemorative poker chip for the evening. Proceeds will benefit the Tri-C Kart Club. Immediately following the race activities on Saturday, Ron will host a post-race party at ‘Dan’s Garage Bar’ (OSS Patio) that will include a band performing live.
