Every day you hear on the news about drug dealers and the victims dealt the drugs; drunk driving and the lives killed because of it; crimes, gangs, and car chases.
“A victim was found in a parking lot nearly dead because a drug dealer forced half of a jug of bleach down the victim’s throat.” It’s become a normal thing to hear about this kind of stuff every day; which isn’t a good thing. Basically what the news reporters are saying is that some clueless teens fell under the influence or were being forced down the wrong road or let themselves be taken over by what was dealt to them.
The youth today are being taken advantage of and being affected mentally and probably physically for life by what society has done. In local high schools and, for all we know, local middle schools, kids are not resisting what is being offered to them. The first thought that comes is that “it’s cool” to smoke, do drugs, or drink. The second thought is that everyone else is doing it. And the third thought is that my life is horrible, maybe this powder, pill or cigarette will make it better.
Well the truth is that it’s NOT COOL! It’s not funny either. Some drugs can kill you with just one dose, others make you go crazy, and some can just destroy you from the inside out. Unfortunately, some of the kids dealt this junk don’t know about the costs that come as a consequence of giving in. They can affect your body, immune system, and nervous system. Those poor choices can also affect others around you if you.
Why would you want to do that to yourself or those you love? Problems or worries cannot be worse than what you or someone else would do to their body through drugs, alcohol, or smoking. There is a solution to every problem, but becoming an addict is not the answer.
Yes, this article is written by a twelve year old venting her feeling and opinions on drugs and other horrible addictive things that have been affecting my peers. Lately I’ve been studying gateway drugs and illegal drugs and what horrible things they do to you. What bothers me most is that some kids dealt drugs or alcohol know what will happen to them if they accept it and yet they still accept. In my opinion that’s ridiculous! So many teens feel like they have nothing to loose if they just try these things. They think that they are different even immune to the effects that lead to addictions. They’re wrong. They have their sanity and friends and family and maybe their life to lose.
You’ve seen the ads in papers and commercials on TV about drugs; haven’t you? For goodness sake, don’t do drugs or whatever has been dealt to you! Do yourself a favor. Resist drugs, alcohol, and smoking.
