Any location can be chosen for an outdoor ceremony however some popular locations for ceremonies include the old log cabin, willow tree, amphitheatre and indoor stable.
Log Cottage
A charming Log Cottage, built in the mid 1700's by early German settlers, provides a romantic setting for an outdoor garden wedding. It lies within close proximity to the barn and offers a stream and pond in the background as well as an arch and brick walkway to the front for a beautiful entrance. Perfect for a horse and carriage.
Willow Tree
The Willow Tree location offers nature and tranquility at its best. Streams and sounds of water and nature surround this location under a large willow tree. The lush green meadow makes a natural aisle toward the airy willow tree with its trinity trunk. This site hosts numerous outdoor ceremonies.
Amphitheater
The Amphitheater contains a natural stage and is within close proximity to the barn while offering expansive views of fields and nature. An arch and white fencing sets the stage as well as various landscaping for all seasons. Perfect for a horse and carriage entrance.
Fernwood
Fernwood is a quiet, forested area with several streams, footbridges, and expansive ferns. It lies adjacent to Easterday Road. Many use hanging lanterns and torches to set a romantic mood.
Careful renovation revives a 19th century German Swiss bank barn, which is the focal point for wedding receptions, business retreats, seminars and other special events. The structural simplicity and natural materials form a dramatic backdrop for wedding receptions. Large glass panels provide fantastic views of the 164-acre farm, with rolling hills, farm pond, and streams and barn doors can be opened to bring the outdoors in. The barn includes a bridal suite, groom's room, five restrooms, a small museum, and three stone fireplaces.
Our rural forefathers cut timber from the land, hewed the logs into beams, assembled by mortise and tenons and held together by wooden pegs. Native stones were used to provide the beautiful stone walls for the foundation.
