SABERS AND ROSES CIVIL WAR REALITY SHOW

This hard-hitting, exciting, "travel back in time" reality show is the brainchild of Kevin Dolan aka Johnny Reb, owner of the 12,000 square-foot Landon House mansion in Urbana, Maryland, just outside Washiington, D.C. Two teams of attractive, modern-day Americans are split into Confederate and Yankee teams and must compete in a series of challenges based upon Civil War-era America.  Tasks include:  loading and firing a musket three times in less than one minute; drilling and marching in unison; sewing team flags, Civil War etiquette and more.  Casting calls were held in Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville, Gettysburg, Houston and Austin with an incredible cast assembled.  Be sure to visit arearadio.com to check out some of the footage.

Currently in post-production with a release date scheduled for October, 2006, JOHNNY REB AND THE LOST CAUSE takes an inside look at the weird, thriving American Civil War subculture.  Tens of thousands of Americans reenact Civil War battles regularly...Ken Burns' The Civil War is the number one show in PBS history...over 3 million people visit Civil War battlefields every year...and yet the Civil War is being taught less and less in U.S. schools.  Some of the subjects covered include:  banning of Confederate flag t-shirts in schools, the issue of whether or not there were black Confederates fighting during the war, the building of a huge casino in Gettysburg and more.  For video clips from the documentary, visit arearadio.com.
