This is such a wonderful place to take lessons and learn about horses. My daughter has special needs and they were able to accomodate her with whatever she needed. From the instructors, to the volunteers and the owners make you feel like family.

Starts out nice enough but then goes downhill fast especially if you start expressing any concerns about safety, costs, promises that evaporate, etc.

See the Review Post that is under another farm name. Lorene Star Lawson has changed the name of the farm a few times. First she was known as Higher Dreams for Horses and Children, then Rushing Winds Farm, then Free Spirit Stables, then Free Spirit Stables at Rushing Winds Farm.Very bad reputation and Star Lawson was investigated for Horse Abuse and Non Profit fraud. One of the last instructors they had there was a woman named Veronica Harding Perkins from Libertytown, MD. She was well known in the horse world and did not have the best reputation. She was suspended indefinitely from the United States Equestrian Federation. She had a record in the Frederick Co. Court System criminal and civil. Do a GOOGLE SEARCH and type in "Veronica Harding Perkins" and it will bring up an article about her. She had a violent side when she drank and police were often called to her home. This particular time her husband called the MD State Police, the husband ran out of the house, the Police came and Veronica Harding Perkins came out the door pointing a gun at the State Police and they killed her before she killed one of them. Read below the Business Review under Rushing Winds Farm and you will get the whole story.
